Just really sweet and the perfect low stakes that really make you care. I felt so happy watching it.

Very satisfying and lovely film to watch. Just exactly what I needed.

  • Cruella

I don’t think it’s good but I had fun so screw anything else. Plus just gorgeous fashion.

  • Stowaway

So clicked this film after looking at the thumbnail and didn’t bother to check what the film was about. So having gone in assuming it would be a lighthearted film about Anna Kendrick in space... well that was not the film I saw.
Really enjoyed it, some touching and emotionally devastating moments. The score highlighted certain points nicely and the cast were fantastic. Definitely worth a watch... but maybe don’t assume it will be a lighthearted comedy 😂

It’s a very Aaron Sorkin film. Good performances, good writing, interesting story but it’s definitely not a watch I’d prioritise.

  • We Can Be Heroes

    We Can Be Heroes

It's Robert Rodriguez revisiting his world of kid superheroes and that just makes me so happy. It's nice watching a film which doesn't talk down to kids and is just uncynical and enjoyable.

Solid mid noughties Nic Cage absurdity.

  • Pixie

Solidly enjoyable romp, great bit of hamming it up from Alex Baldwin as a gangster Irish priest, and really likeable performances from the three leads, especially Olivia Cooke as the titular Pixie. A bit tonally mismatched, but broadly a lot of fun and worth a watch.

  • The Hunt

    The Hunt

The plot is dumb. Don’t watch this film for the plot. Watch it for Betty Gilpin being fucking awesome and a badass. It’s advertised as a horror but it’s not really, just a decent action movie which is 90 minutes long.

  • Bloodshot

Great mid tier action movie. You know what you’re getting with it and it’s got Winston from New Girl with a British accent. Couldn’t ask for more than that.

  • The New Mutants

    The New Mutants

Perfectly decent movie. Felt a bit neutered from what the trailers had promised. Felt more like a big pilot episode for a TV series than a film. The cast were good and some really nice character relationships, plus I’m always a fan of something that uses Buffy. Nice to have a superhero movie that wasn’t world ending stakes.

Also, this gets an extra half a star purely for being the first superhero movie with openly LGBT main characters.
