The Runaways

The Runaways ★★★½

It tells a story well, it kicks & rocks, it makes you want to create & destroy the Shiva out of something.
But I watched Alex Prager's La Grande Sortie earlier today & that generated so much artistic characterisation & unique sense of beautiful & painful fragmentation of the creative self in a handful of frames.
So just lining up these dominoes as this does feels like the same missed opportunity that mainstream biopics always walker-frame themselves through.
But everyone is fantastic & while this film might not set the world on fire, it could catch enough flames to lead somewhere amazing for the right people, & that's a fuckload more than most films can ever claim.
