Cristobal Peña’s review published on Letterboxd:
I love anime but Japanese cinema has never really clicked for me. Love exposure made me love it.
Whenever it comes to Japanese cinema, I usually have 2 prejudices. First that the acting is going to be exaggerated because of the Kabuki acting tradition that Japan has.
Second that the stories are driven by the plot and not by the characters.
Love exposure failed to meet both, it always felt character driven and the acting never felt too over the top even though the situations many times were.
Even though 4 hours would be considered conventionally long, you will not be bored while watching it. The use of music, dynamic camera work and unpredictability will always have you at the edge of your seat.
I would end by recommending this movie to anyone because it basically a bit of everything.
