came home while gabe was watching the second half of this movie so i didn’t so much “watch this” as i did “interrupt his viewing with pointless little pieces of trivia about the second half while pouring granola into containers i bought from the new target on sunset.” great target btw. when are they going to add the target on sunset to letterboxd
weirdly moved by the way the singing is shot once delores starts taking over the choir! there’s one really good shot where they’re dancing and singing “i will follow him” at the end and they dolly into the choir and whoopi looks like beethoven with her gorgeous hair out of the habit. admittedly i’ve been drinking boozy mulled cider for hours and i watched this while makin vegan orange cinnamon rolls that turned out great so everything’s really good to me right now!!!
This movie means nothing. They just went “what’s big right now? incels and antifa? those are the same” and rolled it all into an existing character that could use politically and socially relevant anxieties as developing characteristics... but to make absolutely no “message.” and no, films don’t have to have a message (lemme just preempt that dumb comment someone always wants to make) but it’s so clear that this movie wants you to think it has one. it doesn’t. joker…
Too dumb to understand this. Said as much out loud when the movie ended and my friends confidently explained the synopsis, and I literally did not pick up on any of it.
