"Part of the Journey is the End"
Avengers Endgame is the perfect conclusion to the infinity saga and my favorite comic book film. I don’t see anything ever topping it. I’ll never forget seeing it opening night. An unforgettable experience.
One of the things I love about Avengers Endgame is that is focuses mostly on the characters and we get to see a lot of great character moments and emotion. That’s basically what the first act is seeing the characters we’ve grown to love at their worst.
The use of time travel in EG was brilliant. To have the characters basically visit past movies but also have great character moments like Tony finally saying goodbye to his dad, Cap seeing Peggy and Thor’s conversation with his mother.
All the actors are on their A game. Every character especially the original six and the ones that survived the snap get their moment to shine. Hawkeye finally got his spotlight (not that he was ever bad) he was always good but he never had that one amazing performance and The Russo’s gave that to him in EG.
The amount of times I cry during this 3 hour movie is like a stab in the heart. Nat and Clint fighting each other to kill themselves death hits hard. Tony’s death is gut wrenching. He couldn’t even speak the only words he said were "Hey Pep". Then the funeral with his hologram and that beautiful speech 😭😭 Endgame more like end me.
The final hour/3rd act is literally perfection. It’s easily the best superhero throw down I’ve seen. That Pete and Tony reunion 🥺. Having Tony end it all by saying "I am Iron man" will forever be iconic. Portals, Cap lifting Mjolnir and him saying "Avengers Assemble" will always give me chills. I can go on and on about the final battle. What better way to finish Tony’s and Steve’s character arc by Tony sacrificing himself to save the universe and Steve getting a life with Peggy. No CGI no explosions just two people dancing to a song about a man coming home from war. Beautiful.
