We have reached a new level on the virginity auteurism, folks. It is a film so desperate to make a social criticism in the form of a dystopia where the sexual repression is very strong, than a movie that is afraid and does not allow its characters to appreciate sexuality. Seeing it soon after The Beguiled only reinforces these characteristics. Aesthetically, it is also embarrassing. Aims at Kubrick, but only hits Tom Hooper and the framing often reminded me Mr Robot, which is sort of a joke. Terrible.
