    carrie snodgrass is very good and i wish she was in more things, but overall, despite this being a fine example of early '70s US films, it feels too strained, too controlling over the situation at hand. the dialogue goes from being complex to bordering on self parody, and even then it tries to do too much for its own good, touching on upper class malaise, sexism within a marriage and marriage as an institution, bourgeois intellectualism and so on.…
