Megan’s review published on Letterboxd:
I didn't expect this movie to be so...serious. I watch Guy Richie movies for gangsters with levity. The camera work is still lively as we zip around the Arts District but the Death Wish tone weighs heavy. The stoicism becomes laughable as the movie is consumed by its dick-swinging machismo. I still clung to the pieces of this multi-component revenge as they revealed themselves. Just like Statham, the film takes its sweet time laying out its cards and relishes in its senseless violence all culminating in a shootout that shook the seats of my theater. I enjoyed the ride along but it's a Richie movie I'll never return to.
BUT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SEE THE FRENCH MOVIE THIS IS BASED ON SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE PANDEMIC! Si quelqu'un sait un lien clandestine à Le Convoyeur ou si vous avez une copie que je pourrais emprunter, DITES-MOI!
