I’m pretty sure we all have at least 1 film where we aren’t sure how to feel about it for most of the runtime, but then the ending is so amazing that it makes us realize that the whole movie was amazing.
That’s Donnie Darko for me.
It absolutely saddens me how Josh Trank went from directing this great debut film that did very well at the box office, to then 3 years later directing Fant4stic, which ended up being a financial and critical disaster.
I actually do feel really bad for him, and I hope that one day he makes another great film like this one.
