roger ebert once said, “no good movie is too long and no bad movie is short enough.” my friends, get back is way too fcking long.*

there are beautiful gems here, of course.  the highlight of the film for me occurred during episode one, as paul, waiting for the other beatles to arrive at the studio, sits at the piano and presents to mal evans, as well as the world, unfinished songs he has never played publicly before.  i don’t think…

i’m not a big reader - cinema is my passion.  but when i finish reading a great book, the feeling i have is incomparable.  not even my favorite film makes me feel the way a great book does. watching this film was like reading a great book.

this is the greatest film ever made during my lifetime

it is also the most beautiful film ever made during my lifetime

finally, tony’s hair is the second coolest hair i’ve seen in a film made during my lifetime (number one goes to joseph gordon levitt in inception)

ps. re: maggie being trapped in tony’s room - if you’ve ever been dragged by your parents as a kid to a (filipino) mahjong party, you know the struggle.  you might as well bring a sleeping bag because you’re not going home until noon the next day at the earliest!
