Maybe Shyamalan's best? On par with Lynch, this is a nightmarish rendering of the America of the aughts. Maybe he got too close to our fears, but the way that people are unable to distinguish media-sold "terrorism" from the actual apocalyptic consequences of climate change is prescient. The model home is maybe the crux of what unlocks this movie. We're so keen on destroying nature in order to build monuments to ourselves. The synthetic meets the organic.
