THIS IS WHY CINEMA WAS INVENTED! It’s been a few years since I’ve last seen Raiders of the Lost Ark, and as a HUGE Indiana Jones fan I owe so much to this incredible trilogy by Steven Spielberg. Yes I said trilogy, no I don’t acknowledge the fourth installment of this franchise. I mean, this film is literally the reason why I chose the profession I did. Personally, I always preferred The Last Crusade, but Raiders of the Lost Ark is as good as any Adventure film ever created. In school, the only topics that ever interested me were History and Religion. When you combine those two I become hooked. And that’s exactly what happened to young me after coming across the Indiana Jones trilogy. I would play the box set that I owned day after day after day. Raiders of the Lost Ark takes place in Cairo, Egypt where Nazi Germany has occupied due to the belief they found the location of the Ark of the Covenant, the tomb which holds the sacred Ten Commandments. With a beautiful score by John Williams, and an amazing performance by Harrison Ford, Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of those films you can rewatch over and over again and never get bored of.
