Ryan Chisholm’s review published on Letterboxd:
I'm not quite sure why a franchise that was never particularly successful needed a reboot but here we are, another Wrong Turn movie.
Considering the threat in this is very different to the original series, I'd class this more as a remake. Similar plot, teens get lost in the woods and cross paths with a gang of violent murderers, this time not cannibals but a cult.
Some of the deaths were good but this wasn't engaging or interesting at all. The characters were lifeless and the cult really didn't look the part behind the masks. Are you really trying to make me believe that a guy living in the woods cans have hair and a beard that well groomed?! It's a no from me.
The pacing is awful too, I came so close to turning it off with 35 minutes to go, but endured it whilst it just continued to get worse.
