This movie is the definition of badass. It has a ton of influence on Drive, and did it better imo. I really like Drive, but I definitely see the argument of it being more style than substance. However, that’s not the case at all here. It’s got the vibrant colors and mesmerizing drives through the night, along with some great performances and score. There are tons of great character moments, Mann really knows how to film a great diner scene lol. That ending was also one of the tensest scenes I’ve ever seen. I can see why some people don’t like it, but it’s pretty much right up my alley.
