Cecil Selwyn’s review published on Letterboxd:
The real question is, who do you want to die as?
After much deliberation, I've determined this is my least favorite of the trilogy so far. Which is to say it's just slightly less amazing than the other two. Which is a still such a weird take, given that a number of individual sequences here easily eclipse the previous two entries. But as a whole, this one feels the most disjointed and messy, and I'd be lying if I said parts didn't drag a little bit.
All that being said, I still love about 95% of Parabellum so goddamn much! It's head and shoulders above any other American action film of the past decade. If I want unrelenting badassery, silly worldbuilding, gnarly physicality, and some of the best use of light and color this side of Gasper Noe, there's really no alternative to the John Wick series to get my fix.
And as my love for the trilogy grows, so does my hope that the fourth one can deliver on the level of frankly unparalleled quality we've gotten so far. Fingers crossed!
