WandaVision is the first MCU TV show on Disney+ and the opener of Phase 4. Everybody and their mom has reviewed this already so I don’t I need to explain much more, we’ll move on to my review.
First few episodes were great. Then Episode 4 happened and the show drastically changed into a more typical Marvel fare. Which wasn’t bad, I just preferred the opening style more.
Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are great, and so is Kathryn Hahn. Everybody else though is mehhhhh. A lot of people praised Randall Park and Kat Dennings performance but I found them to be ok at best.
The copying of sitcoms was great but after Episode 5 started to feel like a side thought rather than focus.
Finale was alright but left me a bit disappointed. I’m aware this review is coming off as rather negative but I really did enjoy this show. At best it’s a wholly original artistic look at some of Marvel’s more interesting avengers, at worst it’s some of Marvels most mediocre content.
Time to wait for Falcon & The Winter Soldier.
