    In The Heights

Most musicals rub me the wrong way and it is certainly fair to say "I don't get it" when it comes to things like this but seriously, I don't get it. The celebration of culture is fantastic but every song was dreadfully average and not one song stands out. Also its happiness got on my nerves but maybe that's because I'm an emotionless robot. The characters irritated me endlessly with their corny optimism and I had to take an artificial…

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

The famous "Devil made me do it" case is portrayed here in yet another Conjuring film whose franchise name has long since lost its prestige from the terrifying original. My left eye has been gunking out with conjunctivitis lately so I watched this in a lot of pain and with one blurry eye so forgive me if the emotion of the film didn't quite get through the pus filled agony that made me accept death is preferable to life.

Tornadoes go whizz, humans chase after tornadoes, humans watching the humans chase tornadoes go whoop at the end. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.

I could feel my sanity slipping away along with Bo. It's insane to think he did this by himself. He has a brilliant grasp of using comedy as a meta analysis of daily observations of human behaviour. It was amazing watching Bo's creativity flourish and he has produced one of the best and most surreal experiences this year and of his entire career.

    Boyz n the Hood

Haven't been able to watch many films lately since work has been mad but I snuck this beauty due to some expert procrastination.

John Singleton provides one of the best and most sympathetic looks at crime and black on black violence in their respective communities. Despite many characters being tough so called "thugs" whom many would be hesitant in sympathizing with, Boyz n the Hood does what a story has the unique capability in doing, and making us look at…
