For a sequel, for a studio film, for an ensemble piece, for three different movies rolled into one, this has absolutely NO business going THIS HARD!

The dynamic between the entire family is flawless. Maybe some of the most on point casting and character direction in a studio film ever. Also, forgot just how morbid the comedy of it all is.

God, I love watching movies on planes.

Remains one of the most consistently capable and talented filmmakers working today. Keep ‘em comin’ Cummings.

Much like Herzog, she doesn’t really have a visually distinct style, but the moment the characters begin talking and the plot kicks up, it’s so clearly her thing. Truly one of the greats, directing in the tradition of artists like Sydney Pollack. The camera is 100% motivated or it’s not present. The ultimate filmmaking philosophy.
