    I fucking hated this

If your kinks are as follows; cringe, anxiety, and claustrophobia - then this is your next hour and 17 minutes wrapped up in a box. Have fun!

    ★★★★½

Tender, beautiful and simple, Minari tells a story about familial turmoil and immigrational struggles. Aptly named after a Korean flora that can be planted just about anywhere, Lee Isaac Chung's semi-autobiography portrays how to adapt and overcome as one, wherever you are in the world. While Steven Yeun is rapidly becoming one of my favourite male acts, I'd like to highlight Youn Yuh-jung's performance as Soonja and whom I hope won't be overlooked. Mosseri's soothing composition cemented this heartfelt drama as one of the best films of 2020. For every other filmmaker attempting to win an award this season, this is the one to beat.
