    Saturday Night Fever

🎶Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk. I'm a woman's man, no time to talk...🎶

Saturday Night Fever is John Travolta at his "disco fever" best. Saturday Night Fever symbolizes the best of the disco era in music, dance and fashion, but the story line and characters are worth noting on their own merits. The nighttime music and clothes showcase the reality of young urban life in this film. It also captures the cultural vibes of the late 70s including the really bad ones without glorification. In all, a real time piece capturing New York on 1977-1978, disco music and culture.

"All of a sudden, I miss everyone..."

A Woman Under the Influence is a masterpiece of human emotions. The trick with John Cassavetes is to enjoy what you see in front of you, moment to moment and to stop waiting for something to happen, it already is happening. It's not a plot twist or a message he's trying to communicate to you intellectually ("see these people and how lost they're, this is my comment on middle-aged married life"). Overall, John Cassavetes always focused on is the human experience, human relationships and those humans so happen to be his actors.

    "'Cause she's got a...GREAT ASS!"

Heat is one of the finest crime dramas ever made. It's the story of Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino) and Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro), two charismatic men on opposite sides of the law, with its two superstar co-lead actors (Al Pacino and Robert De Niro) and an equally outstanding supporting cast that includes Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Jon Voight, Diane Venora, Amy Brenneman, Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman. Heat provides nearly three hours of spine-tingling suspense and superb action. Overall, Michael Mann's epic crime tour de force, "Heat" is one of my all time favorite films of any genre.

"You ever heard the story about the Scorpion and the Frog?"

Drive does an outstanding job of establishing mood and setting. That middle of the night feeling is captured perfectly. It only enhances what is essentially the story of a depressed, taciturn nobody who routinely endangers himself for no apparent reason and is only too ready to endanger himself even further than usual so as to help what appears to be the only friend he has in his whole life. Ryan Gosling's acting is superb. He always chooses the subtle route of less-is-more and he pulls it off perfectly. Overall, Drive is absolutely a brilliant film.
