Intended to watch this for quite a few weeks now, turned out to be a haunting but introspective and well-written horror that really follows along nicely from the original; great rewarding references throughout as the story unfolded becoming more and more apparent of his fate. The accompanying plot provided us with other incentives and interesting commentary alongside the flashes of gore and terror, worth a watch over some of what they call horror and put out in the cinemas and media these days.

Fantastic journey from start to finish, thoroughly engaging with a little effort and dedication to adjust to the story. Beautifully threaded plot structure with a neat, inspiring but bittersweet ending. A real film and story about real circumstances, suffering, sexuality, pain and of course glory! Nice insight into culture and theatre in Spain as well, will definetly be checking out more Latin films in the future. Great experience, a very artistic and expressive account of his life; put the concentration in and it will be worth it.

Carried along nicely due to the clever conflicting of characters and charisma provided by Russel Crowe and Christian Bale, at times confusing and annoyingly against the flow of the plot, but oh well. Great setting, action scenes, with a neat conclusion leaving us just about satisfied... still dragged out too long and over-sentimental at times. A good western.

Incredible performance from Mads Mikkelsen, exploring the effects of alcohol on daily life, switching cleverly from light-hearted, laugh out loud comedy, to dark humour to complete seriousness and devastation. Thoroughly engaging, pushing the audience through a range of emotions, gaining and losing our sympathy at any unexpected moment. Respectable ending, leaves the characters fates' to one's own imagination!
