Hannu Björkbacka’s review published on Letterboxd:
Alma Pöysti IS Tove. The film happens on her fantastic face.
Tove Jansson's biopic of the much-loved Finnish artist, creator of Moomin, but much more as a writer and painter, does not fall in to most traps. It is not a stiff statue.
Director Zaida Bergroth has shown before that she is not as much interested in the story than in the inner life of her subjects.
Alma Pöysti is magnificent. This is world-class acting at its best.
