    This 4K restoration was sold out at NYFF, so thanks to BAM for showing Taipei Story many times over the weekend. Edward Yang's death was a calamity for all of us and his cinematic intelligence is unsurpassed in his generation aside from Fassbinder and Akerman. And I will forever continue to think about the fact that he died in Beverly Hills until future biographers explain it to me.
