A very nostalgic trip back to the old days when I used to watch some of these clips countless times and get so entranced by the fabulous music of Daft Punk. I only discovered about the existence of this movie a couple of days ago and was not expecting such a soulful and spiritual journey on top of all the sci-fi elements involved. Each track of the album tells a certain chapter of the story so fluidly and all the transitions were just beautifully done.

What an astonishingly beautiful examination of life and its intricacies, ranging from loneliness and human disconnection all the way to the pure joy of appreciating the most mundane things that make us feel so alive inside.

Scarlett Johansson gives an outstanding performance here and it’s great to see her doing more alternative roles again. I wasn’t familiar with Jonathan Glazer’s work but I was instantly captivated by the unique story, the extravagant visuals and haunting score. Under the Skin is not only a very compelling drama that examines an emotionless alien who gradually starts to perceive how it feels to be human,…
