When the George Lopez theme song played, that was the point I knew. Richard Linklater is the best filmmaker of all time.
I may have not liked this as much as most people but I totally get the love for it. It’s a really good story of some teenagers coming of age in Texas in the 1970s and I really liked it. I loved some of the performances here, particularly Matthew McConaughey, alright alright, alright. Also Milla Jovovich and Joey Lauren Adams were really great. Also PARKER POSEY. Do I really have to explain myself?
Also the music is sooooo good. Linklater basically just took a 3rd of my 100 favorite songs and threw it into a coming of age Texas teen movie. I dug it a lot even though it’s my least favorite of Linklater’s so far.
