Wax, or The Discovery of Television Among the Bees ★★★★★

some fucking madman literally compressed the Akashic Records into a VHS tape then ripped it and put it on the internet as the world's first streamable movie.

it's only fitting that this is the progenitor of YouTube, Netflix, any video form online that you can think of, because this feels like ancient forbidden knowledge running concurrently with the ever-changing present of the now while also existing beyond the presumption of foreknowledge into the distant future.

watching Wax feels like you're experiencing all of it at once.

and what's "it"?

everything.

i can't imagine anything uploaded in any form will be able to manage to match or surpass this in terms of pure substance; Wax is an apt name for this because this experience feels like something tangible, like someone captured the thick consistency of time itself in a bottle and let it ooze against my eyes.

it doesn't seem like a film at all, but some sort of memetic virus. already just an hour after watching it and images and sensations are running through my mind like phantom pains. it DEMANDS me to re-experience it.

Wax feels like what i would find if i stuck a camcorder into the Holiest of Holies in Solomon's temple and just pressed record. Wax is what it would feel like if you were Dr. Manhattan browsing YouTube for 90 minutes. Wax is what it looks like if you were Seraphim playing Time Crisis 3.

transcendent and indescribable. rebirth into the most spiritual of digital spaces.
