Grave of the FireFlies is a no holds barred look into the atrocities people face in wartime, hell on Earth is what Seita and his very young sister Setsuko faced during WWII and the fiery bombing in Japan.
Seita young himself is dealt the task of caring for his young sister Setsuko and surviving with little to eat, drink, or a place to live. The task is heavy and at times to much for Seita but this film proves love is all we need to keep carrying during any hardship.
Going into any animated film their is the usual heart felt moments but I never would have guessed the tears I would shed by the time the credits rolled, I tend to put myself in the same situations the people are enduring during the film however I had never done this during an animated film until now.
I don't know if I've ever seen a film so visually affecting in my lifetime.
This is absolutely one of the most emotionally devastating films I have ever seen.
