    I actually watched this for Hooptober and forgot to log it. Failed to finish all 30 so won't bother figuring out the number.

    An impressively atmospheric horror movie. Compare the menacing slow rolling fog with ominous synths here to the inert wind of The Happening. The actual horror stuff is great with the spooky happenings and slowly revealed backstory. The Tom Atkins is so hot he makes ladies want to settle in rural California subplot was weird.

    A charming dark comedy about a compusive poisoner. Correctly depicts how terrifying and manipulative precocious youngsters are. There is some weird attempt at deepness with the "Newton's diamond" stuff, trying to make the poisoning impulse akin to the alchemist's drive, that doesn't work as well as the straight dark humor.
