    One thing Bergman always nailed, and I mean nailed, was atmosphere. Winter Light is no exception to that.

    The bleakness (and I love a bleak film) was astounding. The morose performances, the dreary delivery and the desolate sets and locations all provided for a really effective piece of filmmaking.
