The Soul Pizza
This scene traumatized me as a child and I never figured out from which "A Nightmare on Elm Street" it was, until now.
Nothing can be more horrible than the idea of having your soul (or the souls of your loved ones) eternally trapped in the realm of a demon, and "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master" takes this horrifying idea to the highest level.
This film not only repeats the painful sight of the souls trapped in Freddy's body, but reinforces the idea that this isn't a trick. It's the truth! The souls are actually trapped in Freddy's rotten body until someone releases them.
And then Freddy serves Alice with his "pizza of souls".
Her friends and brother turned into cheese-covered meat balls, screaming in agony, while Freddy pricked them with his claws and painfully chewed them. Just awful! Pure horror condensed in a few seconds.
People highly praise the third film (deservedly), but this sequel is much more shocking. In addition to the "soul pizza", Debbie and Sheila's death scenes are equally gruesome, extremely well produced with practical effects, and also hilarious!
Besides, I also love the scene, during Joey's funeral, where Alice imagines him leaving the casket as if it were just another of his jokes. Heartbreaking.
"A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master" is a very entertaining and over-the-top entry, with several unforgettable scenes, some of the best practical effects of the franchise and gruesome images that will never leave the minds of those who watch.
