I suspect the people who made this can do a lot better than this, because I see glimpses of real filmmaking talent and intelligence. Particularly in some of the framings and rhythms, they show signs of having studied some good movies. And it is intensely acted. Still, this ultraviolence-for-titillation is junky and dehumanizing. Memo to the filmmakers: next time out, you’ll need people and narrative. The situation you’ve got here can be the denouement of a movie, but it can’t be the whole movie.
