I take it all back, incompetent Steve is significantly worse than competent Steve. Despite running at 74 minutes, it feels like one of his longest.
Awkward and unsure of itself. Spielberg basically knows what he's doing, but somehow that just makes it even worse. If he'd been some sort of dithering incompetent maybe that would've made it more fun. I will say that I laughed my ass off throughout the opening credits. Don't ask, even I'm not sure why. It was all downhill from there. A real clunker.
At least the Imagine video was under 5 minutes.
"Every day we saw thousands and thousands of innocent people disappear up the chimney […] There they came, men, women, children, all innocent. They suddenly vanished."
- Filip Müller, Shoah (1985)
"The way you shoot me is so disgusting […] that it's no wonder that people after Le Pen can say the Concentration Camps were a detail. It comes from that way of looking."
- Jean-Luc Godard, Cannes Interview (1988)
"Well…talk about bad taste!"
- Disgruntled Theatre Patron, The Producers (1968)
The worst film of all time.
