A complex man with a scattergun taste in movies.
Don’t forget to select your favorite films!
Did they really need to nominate people from The Two Popes over the Sandman? Come on, man. Give Bobby Boucher a nod.
Seriously though, this film rips. Incredible on repeat viewing, insurmountable tension for even the most steely of filmgoers, once in a lifetime stuff from Sandler and it’s all the more impressive when you consider none of the characters are particularly likable.
Will be watching this film for years.
Revisited this for the first time in about 15-20 years and it not only holds up, I think I enjoyed it even more when fully taking in its violent dystopian future views.
The reason I point to violence is because it is one of the most unflinchingly gory mainstream movies ever made. The first ED-209 victim’s bullet wounds pulls absolutely no punches as flesh flies from the skin and muscle tendons burst from his body.
These are all plus points…
