To my surprise, I actually enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Emma Stone and Emma Thompson are obviously great, but I think Joel Fry gave an excellent performance as well. For the most part it was entertaining and quite, but unfortunately that wasn’t able to overshadow it’s tacky and in-your-face character script. Also the use of music in almost every set up of a scene gets a bit repetitive and tiring, good songs though.

Costume Department absolutely swept in this ofc

Also, let’s talk about the use of a version of “Smile” which was also used in the Joker film….coincidentally…

    “I forgot my pills.”

While The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It doesn’t fully live up to its predecessors, the one thing it does get right is proving Ed & Lorraine to be the backbone of the entire trilogy. The driving force of these films is their relationship, and especially in this one, how far it gets tested. Will their love always prevail?

I think this was the darkest of all the films just because of the subject matter, and the grittiness. The guy who played Arne Johnson was terrific.

Is this the end of the series ???

anthony hopkins is the pinnacle of this film.

he embodies the pain, misery, and desire so freaking well, i found myself forgetting that i was watching a film.

also, the fucking screenplay. the way it disorients the audience/viewer, leading us on some sort of leash, like a stray dog.

i geniunely dont have the words to summarize how i feel right now, but all i can say is that this is a perfect example of what storytelling should be.
