Eyes Without a Face: A New Persona

Films in which a character adopts a new persona by way of having their face and/or body reconstructed in surgery or other such trickery/unnatural means, or perhaps even a horrible accident or botched surgery.

One of my favorite motifs in cinema, it freaks me out and beguiles me at the same time. Will add more if anyone has some good suggesties. I'm surprised there isn't a Hitchcock movie like this, that must not have been one of his fetishes.
