Fantastic documentary for anyone looking to learn a little more about Lovecraft. Steller choices of interviewees from filmmakers such as John Carpenter and Stuart Gordon to horror literary icons such as Ramsey Campbell and Peter Straub, and of course the ultimate Lovecraft scholar S.T. Joshi.

    Highly recommended.

Back in October I watched my first Henenlotter flick, Brain Damage, and became an instant fan. Rather than rush through the rest of Frank's filmography I've decided to take my time. Savor it.

And I'm glad to say Basket Case didn't disappoint. All the sleaze, gore and grittiness of NYC is showcased with marvel and ease. Totally bizarre and gruesome, with plenty of interesting characters to keep many of the tight sets feeling open and fresh.

    Looking forward to the sequels!

The ending to the 2018 film was way too satisfying to be undone for such a mediocre, convoluted, needlessly padded and ultimately underwhelming sequel.

    So disappointing.

Okay, I won't lie, I'm more of a Halloween guy. Always have, probably always will be... but there's no denying the sheer impact Jason Voorhees had on the 1980's and the horror genre as a whole.

That being said, I consider Part VI my favorite, and this, The Final Chapter, my second favorite in the franchise. It's just so damn good. From the kills, the unique characters, the gore, the chicks, the cheese, Corey frickin' Feldman... There's so much here…
