Bo Burnham performing Stars Are Blind by Paris Hilton... Oscar-worthy stuff right there.
I was excited for this one, but I built the different expectations.. This portrays trauma in an honest way. Trauma changes you, it breaks you and no one knows how strong you have to become to rebuild yourself -or at least pretend to- but you, especially when you have to do it alone, in silence and shame.
The last 15 minutes were not what I was expecting and are gonna be controversial, but judging from my rage-crying I didn't have to think much to know that that was the point. Important film. Could have pushed the dark parts further and been shorter tho. Great soundtrack!
btw, no better way to set the tone than starting this film with a remix of Charli XCX's boys playing over shots of overly dressed men's pelvic areas in a club...
