this movie is literally uhhhh perfect i think??? maybe i'm overemotional because me and my dad were in the middle of our monthly Big Disagreement, but this was just genuinely so lovely and SO MUCH FUN!! i laughed out loud plenty of times, and my whole family loved this. sony animation is just killing it time and time again. my god.
me: damn i should be watching some more oscar movies before the oscars tomorrow
me, also: watching raya
honestly, i also don't have many strong opinions about this. the animation is very very pretty, raya and namaari are like... extremely gay and i'm here for it, sisu works better than i expected she would, and this was pretty fun, but also it's not like a FANTASTIC movie in my book. i did like it though. just felt it was really hurt by some excessive exposition and a plot that lingers a little more on the weaker side.
this is probably the most stressed i have ever felt during a movie. it was just... fantastic. it's everything a horror movie should strive to be. it's exceptionally written and directed, and all the performances were outstanding. i'm running out of adjectives. go see this as soon as you can. just believe me here.
(oh and, of course, i attended the brazilian premiere for this! it was amazing, and i'm so grateful holy crap)
(also they had free popcorn. which…
SHUT UP i'm so soft and this made me want to fall in love
seriously though, i could not stop thinking about how this movie felt almost dreamlike. it's so sweet, and colorful and all the characters are so real, and lara jean is so relatable, i looOOove her. god, i wanna live in this movie.
