BIG MONKE MOVIE TURNS OUT TO BE PRETTY AWESOME. Kong > Godzilla in my eyes
It does seem like this film really understands what people showed up for, and even though there’s humans to move the plot forward, it’s quite literally the bare minimum and in all honesty I don’t mind in the slightest
The original Godzilla does more for the monster thematically than any other film would dare, so I can always revisit that if I want more

A bit choppy at times, it’s a film saved by it’s important message and charismatic performances across the board
Leslie Odom Jr. as Sam Cooke is absolutely fantastic and those final moments of the film absolutely crushed me
Very confident debut from King, and while it feels like a debut, she certainly has power behind the camera as she does in front of it

    BATSHIT. INSANITY

Seriously, Boots Riley has crafted an extremely original and inventive, albeit absurd and absolutely ridiculous film about a plethora of topics, all of which are extremely relevant to our current society
Lakeith Stanfield is a great lead and I love seeing Tessa Thompson, but Armie Hammer really steals the show with what he’s given
Riley’s background in music shines through the great soundtrack
The film is pretty consistent in its…
