Not sure this aged well.
A good example of noir in the "crime melodrama" vein. Might be a little bisected, especially since Lupino shows up just before the halfway mark. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Neat camera work, and pretty good direction (some of which is Lupino's uncredited work). As much love as Bezzerides gets, the script seemed a little off.
