One of those movies that you catch on AMC and can’t turn off.
Lot of people slurping this up, but thought it was just OK.
The two guys are fantastic but movie is pretty split between the two of them, which apparently is due to the fact that these guys didn’t actually know each other very well at all.
The middle third is a total slog. The drama of the betrayal is not played on nearly enough overall and during this portion it’s almost non existent, with nothing compelling to take its place.
Well made, great performances from the main players but overall..it’s just fine.
The Martian, Interstellar, Gravity, and Ad Astra had a space orgy and this is the awkward morning after.
Very often beautiful, sparingly interesting this thing just never resonates on any level, especially the death scene. We spent all of about 5 seconds with this character—outside of the basic “oh no someone is dying” man did I not care. Bad choice for the emotional play.
Big waste of a good cast. And man Alexandre Desplat must have had some throwaway tracks to get rid of because the score is bland and kind of basic.
