Maybe the kids will be okay! Honestly, after watching Boys State yesterday, this was a needed counter balance to the Hell that was depicted in that doc. As for this movie, it had highs and lows, but if nothing else it went for it. Generally speaking, I really appreciated just how explicit it was with most of its messaging, hitting on a lot of things that we experience and feel in high school. I only wish that a few of the more important scenes were not undercut with some jokes that feel out of place, especially in the context of the last few speeches. Overall, I appreciated what this movie was going for, I just wish a few things had been rearranged or trimmed to put a laser focus on how all of these actions are fundamental components of fostering rape culture.
