    Sundance 2022 Film #1
What a powerful film. This film perfectly captured the story of Brian Brown-Easley and John Boyega beautifully portrays him as a human being that you can't help but empathize with. It's an intensely claustrophobic and moving film that had me on the edge of my seat and gave me chills constantly. I remember hearing about this story but I never really looked into it at the time, and I will never forget it now. I highly recommend this film, it's a story that needs to be told, and this film does a wonderful job.

    Sundance 2022 Film #2
While they introduced this movie as "the most unpleasant movie ever made," I had a really great time watching this. It's nowhere near as depraved as I expected it to be, and most of the runtime is a mildly uncomfortable buildup to the finale, which is worth the wait.

The subtlety of how this movie conveys social anxieties, and how they can be controlling and make people do things they aren't comfortable with, was very well…

Much like The Life Aquatic, there's a lot in this film I absolutely love, but there's also a lot that feels like it misses the mark for me. I think the characters are great and the plot has many surprises that I didn't expect. However, I didn't feel as invested in this as I'd like and the pacing is inconsistent. This is still a good movie that demonstrates a lot of Wes Anderson's early talent as a filmmaker, but it's far from my favorite.

Absolutely phenomenal. Candyman was both everything I hoped it would be and a lot that I didn't expect. This film deepens the lore of the first film so much that I highly recommend seeing it before this one. The social message in this film was prevalent in the first film as well, but it's even more pronounced here and the film is better for it.
Candyman has always been more than just a typical horror movie, and it's great to…

I went to the fan event which had a mini retrospective on the franchise before the movie and a live Q&A afterwards. I really enjoy the Scream franchise and I was excited for this movie, but I can't say I got very much out of it. The positives of this movie are that its quite entertaining, the new characters are pretty good, and it definitely has the goriest and most violent kills in the series without question.

    That said though,…
