Getting into movies
Black Jack moves slow to allow the simplicity of life to become cherished and absurd. The plot is almost as if squeezed out of a juvenile’s mind to make just enough sense. The logic also is simultaneously knee-jerk and quick to mend conflict. The titular character, while instrumental to the plot, is boring and barely there. The children fail to act. This all works quite well together. There are beautiful scenes of simple love heightened by the poetry of dreams…
I saw Mugen Train alone at the Regal Cinema on Court Street today. First time visiting a theater this year.
Mugen Train turned out to be, appropriately, a long episode of Demon Slayer. It offered virtually no exposition— Mugen Train is strictly for fans. Fortunately I am a fan, having enjoyed the first season at the beginning of the year.
This all makes it difficult to assess and rate. I also admit being in a new environment adds more factors…

I liked this movie very much.
Very entertaining to see such a physically strong man be taken down in this very special way. Body positivity aside, I think Burt's physique was a very good look, overall, for men. Would care to see more of this in the future but I know I can't hold my own breath. Many characters were very rude but none were physically imposing like Burt who we are pretty sure was the rudest of them all. Isolation seems to really sting in this picture. Can't believe this was Connecticut! Runtime was without flaw.
